Yesterday my two older daughters and I entered the photography competition and the CA Mid-State Fair. I think this will be really fun for all three of us.
Here are the two pictures my 10-yr old chose to enter:
These ones are my 4-yr old's:
What I love is, she may have the best pictures of the three of us. She has such a great view of the world. I love her pictures.
I had a hard time picking from my pictures so I still have to narrow it down. I can only submit a single picture in two different catagories. I decided to print both choices I have for the two categories I entered and see which looks better when I get the prints.
Here are the two I need to choose from for Color - Architecture:
You might notice that second one I posted last time. This version is cropped a bit and I reduced the glare from the windows a bit so it was a little less overwhelming.
These two I need pick between for Color - Nature:
The purple flowers I also posted last time. This one is cropped a bit more and I think the colors are better.
I am not sure why I picked these pictures. I prefer black and white or sepia over color and I have so many pictures I like. I guess I was just in a color mood when I registered yesterday.

Finally... I have something to put in this blog. Coming up with things to say was seriously taking away from my slack. I finally have the time and means to get more into photography. Lucky me, it happens to also give me something interesting to post in a blog.
I am far from good at this yet but I'm having fun so who cares?
Here are some pictures I took last Friday.

Nope, it's not a Miro. Not Klee or Kandinsky either.
Ok, any guesses what this is a picture of?
My parents have a Miro that hung above our couch when I was growing up. One of my sisters used to think it was a picture one of the other of us had done as a toddler. I am thinking I need to get Laura to draw more and sell a few. :)
Someone check outside, you don't see any flying pigs do you? Ok, whew!
Yea, I know, I said I'd never blog... I lied. Well actually what happened was that at work we were "encouraged" to blog on our work blog. So, being a good little employee, I did (you can check it out here, be warned, it is computer-geeky - that is my job after all). Then I started reading the 1947 Project blog after I heard about it in the L.A. Times. It used to be here on blogspot and to comment, I had to register. We finally get around to today when I was blogging for work and realized I had something not work related to say and I remembered this blog.
So, here I am.
Oh, this is the funny part... ready? I wanted to post a picture, but the digital camera needs recharging. Of course I'd already started this before I realized it. Hahahaha... so I have something to show you, but you have to wait a few hours. Sorry!
Oh, this editor is nicer than the one at work...
